I had to study Mme. Butterfly intensely to get myself out of Music Theory, but in the process discovered that I don't really like that opera. It's not just the story, either.

Turandot is Puccini's best, in my opinion.
Probably because he died before he could edit all of the awesomeness out of it - there are a lot of rough edges.
